The purpose of this research is to explore alternative procedures to streamline and improve the generation and examination of silver nanowires formed from a suspension of AgNo3 with an electric field while exposed to UV radiation. The main avenue of exploration in these procedures is modifying where/how nanowires are deposited. Part of this is if a new interface can be introduced between the nanowire and the ferroelectric material LiNbO3, which has ingrained electric fields which promote wire growth. Time will also be spent to establish improved laboratory techniques and to improve the lab space itself. This research is a continuation of previous research carried out within the UNCA Physics Department.
