My project is to create a website for Michael and Jill Fairbanks’s cabin rental business. I chose to take on this task due to Michael and Jill Fairbanks being my parents and because I may be given similar tasks when I join the work force. The website created will serve as a critical component of the Fairbanks’s business; it will be a means to manage cabin bookings, describe the features of the property to potential guests via interactive applications and descriptions, as well as provide contact information to guests. To complete this task, I will use Bootstrap, a database backend using Firebase, JavaScript to provide functionality to applications featured on the website, APIs to acquire data from other online sources, HTML, CSS, and other similar software to develop the responsive webpage. Testing for the project will be performed by the Fairbanks’s as well as William Rogers, who is a co-owner of the business. This testing will consist primarily of thorough click testing of the site: verifying that navigation is clear, cabins can be booked by users of the site, all necessary information on the business is displayed, and that data regarding the cabin bookings is provided to the Fairbanks’s and Rogers.
